God’s Promise of Faithfulness to You

Have you ever experienced a situation where someone was unfaithful? If so, you will know how deeply painful it can be. Today I want to encourage you to remember that God’s faithfulness to you is unlike any human relationship.

God is always faithful and His promises never fail.

Whatever challenges you face, God wants to remind you He will be faithful to you in that very situation.

God’s Promises of Faithfulness

Here are a few promises of God’s faithfulness . . .

  • “…He who promised is faithful” Hebrews 10:23
  • “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”Numbers 23:19
  • “In Jesus we hear a resounding ‘Yes’ to all of God’s many promises  2 Corinthians 1:20
  • “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!  Lamentations 3:22-24

This week, I also read in Revelation 9:11 that even Jesus name is FAITHFUL!

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True (Revelation 19:11). Wow!  His very name is Faithful!!

Is God Always Faithful?

God wants you to know that His faithfulness to you doesn’t diminish because of any mistakes you may have made. Check out this verse below.

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”—2 Timothy 2:13

So, take heart in God’s unchanging character. He doesn’t get in a bad mood with you or turn away from you if you stumble. People can do this, but it’s important not to project this onto your relationship with God. God’s behaviour is not subject to yours. That God is faithful to us, even if we are not to Him, is beyond our earthly understanding. But there it is, it is the TRUTH. What a testament this is to God’s astronomic LOVE. Because you’re in a covenant relationship with Him, you are safely and securely (and permanently) tucked under His wing – forever at rest in His love. His faithfulness to you is a done deal. (Now’s the perfect time to say a huge: Thank you Jesus!)

God gave us His promises so that we could take hold of them and apply them to our lives – especially important when times are tough. (It’s not enough to just know them).

The verse below says that we need to “feed on His faithfulness”. (I had never seen this verse before!)

Psalm 37:3 – “Trust in the Lord, and do good, dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

The Psalmist was spot on. He knew that if we don’t (regularly) “feed on His faithfulness” we are likely to forget this important aspect of God’s character.

So how do we “feed on God’s faithfulness”?

By (a) remembering it AND (b) declaring it.

How to Activate God’s Promise of Faithfulness in Your Life

The dictionary describes faithfulness as:

Loyal; True; Trustworthy; Devoted; Constant; Committed; Reliable; Dedicated; Dependable.

All of these words describe God’s relationship with YOU.

  1. I invite you to make this personal and put each of the above words in a sentence like this … “He is LOYAL to me; He is TRUE to me; He is … (put in each words and don’t stop until you’re finished. This is very powerful and if you do this with faith and boldness, I can guarantee that it will shift doubt).

Jeremiah 1:12 says God is watching over His word to see that it comes to pass”. That’s a powerful promise for your life right there! This verse is saying that God is watching over His words concerning every-single-aspect-of-your-life! And why? To ensure that His promises to you come to pass. (*A reminder here: God is never late. He is never early. He is always on time. He does ALL THINGS PERFECTLY. And His promises never, ever, ever, fail).

  1. What situation are you facing right now where you need breakthrough? (Take a moment to identify one of your biggest challenges right now).

Into that very situation, I want you to remember and declare God’s faithfulness.

Below I’ve crafted a declaration based on some of God’s promises of faithfulness, I invite you to declare it over your life. (And also add to it in your own words, as you feel led.)

Father God, thank you that you love me and that I am your beloved child; I commit to you the situation of XXXXXXXXX (where you need breakthrough) I rejoice that ALL your promises to me are Yes and Amen! I rejoice that your mercies fail not and your faithfulness to me is new every morning; Great is your Faithfulness! I declare “You are God! And you never lie!” Therefore, I proclaim all your promises are TRUE.  And they always come to pass! I rest in perfect peace trusting in your perfect timing. How great you are to me! How wise and how good you are. Today I declare my trust in your faithfulness to me in every area of my life, in Jesus mighty name, thank you, amen.

It is time to activate faith in the truth of God’s faithfulness.  It is the key to flourishing in life.

Great is His Faithfulness!

God bless,
