Autumn leaves cast off

the trees stand still

stretching upward in

silver grey skies

and icy winds

unadorned

they tremble

they rest

they wait

and watch

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says: "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven."

This beautiful verse is a reminder that every season is ordained by God, so it is His gift to us. I have become so grateful for Winter, because of the message it sends to slow down, rest, reflect and be renewed. With all that's happening in our world, it's the beauty of creation that so often nourishes our souls. We need it like a garden needs water. Praise God for the beauty of every season.

I wonder what the Lord wants to say to you, as you reflect on the resting Almond Trees in the image above?
