The Hebrew word 'Emunah' means to place steadfast trust in God's faithfulness even when His work is not yet seen.

The branches of a tree in Winter may feel bare, dry and even lifeless. But beneath the surface something beautiful is taking place. There is hidden movement and the sap stored in the roots will soon rise and provide nutrition for Spring buds, leaves and fruit.

During times when God's work is not yet seen, our arms can open and stretch upwards towards heaven to receive His love, just as the branches of this Almond tree are reaching upwards. We can declare 'Emunah' because we know that just around the corner a new beginning is coming, for the Lord says, 'For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun.' (Isaiah 43:19 NLT)
